Crystal Point resident Holly Corey died tragically on Friday, November 30, 2007. Family, friends and neighbors gathered Friday night at Corey's house on Tealwood Drive, where she lived with her husband, Jeff, a computer salesman, and her 12-year-old son, Jeffie.

Crystal Pointe residents and neighbors Brenda Schultz and Margaret Francis organized a drive to provide assistance to Holly's family. Brenda sent this personal note:

"I did not know Holly well, but I knew her. Our back yards meet. Her only child Jeff, (Jeffie, as he is known in the neighborhood), played football and video games with my son Jacob. I know that every time I saw her she was smiling. She was one of the bubbliest people I had ever met, almost to the point of envy. I didn't know where she found her energy. Last year, when I gave birth to my youngest son, she was one of the neighbors that brought us a wonderful dinner. The loss to her husband, Jeff and son, Jeffie goes beyond my comprehension. With the holidays only 3 weeks away, that loss will be amplified. I am sure this is the time of year that Holly loved the most.

I want to help this family cope in any way I can--I know everyone's first thought goes to food for the family, but I was thinking something more long term. I am open to any suggestions, but I am planning on going to our local Papa John's pizza place today and find out what it would cost to have a pizza a week delivered for the year for Holly's family--something easy, where they could pick up the phone and have dinner without a thought. Any other ideas would be helpful.

The Crystal Pointe Homeowner's Executive Board will be convening on Tuesday, December 4, 2007. A portion of the meeting will be used to discuss ways in which the residents of Crystal Pointe can aid Mrs. Corey's husband and son.
